Campaign against drug abuse begins
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Narcotics Control in collaboration with Community Support Programme (CSP), a non-governmental organisation, have launched Drug Abuse Awareness Project, a ministry official said on Monday. The ministry has approved Rs 1.2 million to implement the project in seven districts including Vehari, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Abbotabad, Sanghar, Sukkur, Muzzafarabad and Islamabad. The CSP would raise awareness among children, youth and various segments of society about the social, economic and health related problems caused by drugs. A painting competition in 300 public and private sector educational institutions would be organised to educate students about drug abuse. Seminars in connection with the International Day against Drug Abuse would be organised on June 26.
