RI 1: Kennedy Seeking Help for Prescription Drug Addiction

A day after crashing his car into a police barrier near the Capitol, Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy said he has no recollection of the incident and will immediately enter a drug rehabilitation program to help him cope with his addiction to prescription pain medication. “I have been fighting this chronic disease since I was a young man," Kennedy, D-R.I., told reporters Friday. “I struggle every day with this disease, as do millions of Americans."
