Drug addiction great threat to humanity: Aurakzai

PESHAWAR: The NWFP Governor Lt. Gen (retd) Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai has said that the drug addiction is a great danger for the entire humanity and though the ongoing efforts to get rid of this problem are quite satisfactorily progressing both in the province and FATA yet we have to continue the struggle with much more vigor and enthusiasm to fully combat and control the evil in all respects. Talking during a ceremony held under the aegis of Anti-Narcotics Force at Regi in Peshawar on Thursday, the Governor described the 45% reduction of poppy production in FATA this year as compared to the past year as highly appreciable achievement and added that there is dire need to further accelerate the efforts not only to fully curb the evil but also to create awareness amongst masses about the hazards of drug addiction.
